Use Storytelling To Make Your Content Powerful

“Those who tell the stories rule the world.”

       - Native American proverb

If you want to make your content resonate and engage with your audience, learn to tell a good story.

If you want to make your content resonate and engage with your audience, learn to tell a good story.
Andrew Stanton, an acclaimed screenwriter and producer, who co-wrote A bug's Life, Finding Nemo and the Toy Story animation, says the following about storytelling:

“Capturing truth from your experiences”
    - Andrew Stanton

Use what you know, draw from it by expressing values you feel.

Having the continuous pressure of producing relevant and engaging content can prevent you from drawing on “personal” experiences. Your content doesn't need to be perfect and by adding a personal touch, it will generate more lasting engagements.

Good, fulfilling and engaging content doesn’t need to complicated, in fact, it is the direct opposite. By keeping your content simple and focusing on a singular topic that you can deliver with clarity and your experience is the way to go.

Facts are the underlying basis, sadly that can come across a bit boring if a “real” story is not laid over top. Once you do this you will engage far more with your audience.

Tip: With regard to developing your brand, product or service, ensure you are creating your content from a place of differentiation. In other words, talk about what makes you different from your competitors, simple! Just do it in a story that has real evidence and meaning behind it.

In the process of overlaying a “good story” in your content, remember this quote from the great children's TV personality Fred Rogers, who said he always carried in his wallet a quote from a social worker that said “Frankly, there isn’t anyone you couldn’t learn to love once you've heard their story.”
This quote sums up the real power of storytelling.
